What We Bought for Back to School

We are wrapping the first week of school here in PHX and getting back into reality - which gave us some time to round up all the items we bought for back to school! Having said that, between the three of us, we have eight kiddos, spanning in ages from 8 to 16! The list above reflects some choices for our younger kids, as well as some of our teens' picks (of course they must wear what is trending!) The majority of our kids wear uniforms to school, so you'll see more shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. A few items from the list above that are noteworthy (and apply to all ages/genders) is the visual timer and the academic planner. The planner was recommended by a friend (thank you, April!) - who has worked with an executive functioning coach and it is an invaluable tool to organize your kiddo.

A few more items...

Teen girls are all about the converse this year (thank you, Allison) and she got these low-top platforms for her girls. Do not omit the platform! Very important. Pair with the Nike socks above.

Teens are into the black Herschel (above) and some love the white!

Speaking of teens, let's talk boys for a bit. Many are wearing the New Balance 480s (above) but also into these Reebok Vintage pair...can you tell Dad shoes are in? You'll see either of these all over teen boys' feet.

If your son wears a uniform, we love these khaki shorts from Amazon. The price is right, and they have the shorter hem, which is trending currently.

Gretchen and Laura both have younger boys (age 11) and Laura's son is still on the Air Jordan train. If you have a younger boy into Jordan, a backpack like this or this and these Retro Jordan 3s are what Laura got.

Last, but certainly not least, something for Mom! We get asked about this giant, butcher paper wall calendar frequently and we all love it so much. It's pretty and serves as a way to keep track of all the family happenings in one central spot.
